Therapies with Botulinumtoxin

Bruxism: Chronic teeth grinding or jaw clenching can lead to temporomandibular joint disorders, muscle tension, and headaches or neck pain. Injecting botulinum toxin into the masseter muscle reduces excessive muscle activity without impairing normal function.

Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating): In cases of localized, excessive sweating – especially in the underarms, palms, or soles of the feet – botulinum toxin can significantly reduce sweat production.

Treatment Procedure: The injections are administered on an outpatient basis using fine needles and are generally well tolerated. The effect typically begins within a few days. Re-treatment is possible and usually required every 5 to 6 months.

Cost Coverage

For bruxism or hyperhidrosis, statutory health insurance usually does not cover the treatment. In exceptional cases, an individual application for cost coverage may be submitted with detailed medical justification and, if necessary, a medical report. Private health insurance providers often reimburse the cost after case-by-case assessment, provided that medical necessity is documented appropriately. We recommend obtaining written pre-approval from your insurance provider.

Fees: All treatment costs are based on the German Medical Fee Schedule (GOÄ – Gebührenordnung für Ärzte).
